Bald Eagle

Date: 09/23/2012

Number: 1

We really enjoyed watching a bald eagle in migration today. It was nothing but a tiny dot, hardly visible without binoculars. We watched it circle for a few turns, then pull its wings back until it looked almost like a bat in silhouette. With stiff westerly winds blowing 15 mph, it stooped and zoomed southward. We watched until it disappeared from view about 5 minutes later. We were watching from Baldtop Mountain.
