Standing on the beach early in the morning I stood in amazement as the monarchs streamed down low and close to the water line. At one point I counted 100 oer minute going by me. Once they reached the curve of land(the point) in Cape May Point they moved up in the dune areas. Many stopped on the beach to rest on the sand. Most of the monarchs stayed in the sheltered dune areas on trees with blooming English ivy or on groundsel bushes.... to nectar. Hardly any were seen inland in gardens!! It was like a snow globe today as the brilliant orange of the monarchs flew against the bright blue fall sky!!!! Itw as so great to see them everywhere you looked!
