Monarchs Still Migrating on Toronto Waterfront - Leslie Street Spit

By checking the visible satellite picture I decided the sun would appear after 3 pm, but the hummingbirds drew me to Rosetta Mclean Gardens first so I didn't arrive at the Spit until after 4:30pm but I did see many fresh monarchs (40+) nectaring on goldenrod near the gate and the parking lot - very little action on the New England Asters which are now in full bloom. I also saw a mating pair and found 3 milkweed caterpillars, 2 about half grown and 1 very small one. Interestingly enough all 3 were feeding from the top of the leaf so they were quite easy to spot
