Wed, Sept 19, from 1-3pm:
Some friends who live in Annapolis told me they were sailing on the Chesapeake Bay from Rock Hall (on the eastern shore) to Sandy Point State Park (on the western shore just north of the Bay Bridge) and saw numerous migrating monarchs fly past them, heading due southwest. Wind was NNW at 12mph so the monarchs flapped continuously to stay on course. Once at Sandy Point, they saw more monarchs hugging the western shore of the bay as they continued migrating south.
