Hummingbird Sighting (Adult Male)
Sightings report image

Date: 09/21/2012

Number: 2

I have seen a couple of males but most of the hummers here are juvenile male and female with a few adult female. This male hummer was dangling from a feeder. I gently scooped the bird in my hand and to my amazement his beak was crossed with his tongue protruding out. I placed his beak in the feeder a few times and he flew away. moments later he returned to the feeder and ate on his own. i havent seen him since friday so i am thinking he is on his way to a warmer climate for the winter.
