Seeing monarchs feeding on abandoned farm field with hardy ageratum and goldenrod. The monarchs feed mainly on the ageratum but I have seen two on the goldenrod. I have only seen one yesterday that was clearly in migration mode--soaring at 25 feet. I saw 10 monarchs on the ageratum yesterday so some have apparently moved on. I have seen at least 6 monarchs on the ageratum each day this last week.

Sadly I found one female today that had died in my yard (I think it drowned in the last heavy rain.) It had apparently tried to take cover in a covered spot that floods in heavy rains.
