Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/26/2012

Number: 1

Sighting at least 4 to 5 every few seconds going west to east along Choctawhatchee Bay. I do not mean east to west but the opposite. Thought is was strange.

Editor's Note: There's a massive butterfly migration right now along the Florida Gulf coast. Our contacts there say most of the butterflies are Gulf Fritillaries, not monarchs, so we edited this from Peak Migration while we wait to hear back from observer about identification. (One expert counted 20 Gulf Fritillaries for every 1 monarch.)
