Sightings report image

Date: 09/26/2012

Number: 5

Frost Monday morning. Covered a lot of plants, but not all. Got up before dawn, took each feeder in one at a time. Ran them under hot water to warm and added room temp nectar to feeders. Those who spent the night started eating at 6:30 am. Bees started at 7:30. New group of birds came in at 8:00. Was afraid my new skinny guy left, but he is still here getting chubby. Have five most days. At least three at a time all day long. No significant damage from frost seen. Hosta is about bloomed out. Deadheaded Butterfly bush so there are fresh blossoms. Going to try more blue lobelia next year in spring. It is so hard, but it will last for a while and they like it.
