"Air-Battles at 7 am" - As I sat on my back porch at 7 am, drinking my Sunday Coffee and enjoying some "Me-Time" on my 51st BDay, I watched 9 Individual Hummers (mainly females) repeatedly buzz in, sit/rest and feed over a 3 hr period. At different times,I watched fantastic "Air-Battles" between 1 Male Ruby-Throat and 1 Male Black-Chinned who both took turns guarding over the feeder from a tree branch above. When one saw the other one feeding, he would buzz down and knock the other one off the feeder, then the Air-Battles began!! The Winner reclaimed his guard postion, while the Loser flew away to find another feeding spot. Exciting, Fast-Paced Action that was amazing to watch!! Go Hummers!!
