We saw hundreds of Gulf Fritillaries flying south just behind the sand dunes at Litchfield Beach on Sept. 21. The sightings continued, though in much smaller numbers, for the next three days. The breeze seemed to be giving them little opportunity to slow down, but finally a few did rest on some shrubs, giving me a photo op. What a beautiful sight!
