Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/28/2012

Number: 2

Today like yesterday only two lone females holding out, almost like a game of whose going to break southward last and claim the honor of last sighting of the season. They arrive early break of dawn, each claiming one of the three feeder. Much the same routine in the evening, although this evening they didn't stay as long. Will they make it through this weekend? We shall see as I will be doing a lot of outdoor fall work all the while keeping an eye on the feeders and an ear tuned in to the possible sound of beating wings or a last chirp announcing a seasonal farewell until next year.
