The numbers have dropped considerably. Only one male is still showing up at the feeders. I see about six females perched all day near a feeder. Those six are feeding often and getting pretty fat. There are others flying in and out periodically over the day. I'm not sure of total numbers, but I'm only seeing about 10 at a time now. There is not as much fighting over the feeders.
It is much quieter in the back yard where the feeders are. (I had increased the number of feeders from 4 to about 11 once the migration started to avoid having to fill them more than once a day. It is time to pull some of them in.) Most of the background chatter in the trees is gone. It's usually pretty noisy out there because they are flitting around, keeping up noise, and playing in the trees even when they aren't at the feeders. The season is almost over. I'm feeling kind of sad to see them go.
