Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/25/2012

Number: 1

Our Bookbaggers were watering our butterfly garden when we found a newly emerged adult Monarch hanging on the base of a crepe myrtle tree. Its wings were full, but not yet dry and hard. It's the first "home-grown" Monarch we've observed in our waystation. It crawled onto Mrs. Deborah's finger and we carefully moved into the inside observatory. Tomorrow morning the Lambs and Lions storytime group can tag and release it.
