Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/02/2012

Number: 14

Sighting for the last two days prior had dwindled to one or two butterflies a day but today after a front passed the monarchs were back. I saw 4 feeding on hardy ageratum in an abandoned farm field of ageratum, goldenrod and boneset. I had two feeding on althea flowers and then saw 7 feeding on a butterfly bush and one on a red knockout rose. Go Monarchs!!!

(Sadly, yesterday I only saw one all day and it was a male dying next to the road--probably hit by a car.)
