Again while at National Zoo, saw several monarchs. Two were flying about twenty feet overhead, rather swiftly, probably south (I'm sorry I don't know which direction 'south' is while I'm there). I sighted another one flying from a big bed of blue mist flower to a white snakeroot plant, also in bloom. Glad there are so many good patches of autumn-bloomers for these beautiful 'flying flowers' to visit!
