Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/03/2012

Number: 17

I saw 17 Monarchs this evening over a 45 minute period. It is very overcast and calm on the ground, but there must be a good Southerly breeze because 16 of the Monarchs were flying very high (maybe 4 or 5 stories) and were gliding along, not having to flap their wings much. I saw one fluttering about the yard, possible looking for a food source. I wished them all a safe journey!
