Yesterday I counted 5 monarchs in the garden here in Jackson around mid-day(very unusual to see this here now). At around 5 I looked out my kitchen window and found 2 were roosting in our crab apple tree in the rain. One looked a bit worn-it was not a new adult. This am I left for NY in a fog, but my husband reported seeing 2 monarchs in the morning fog and then again saw 4 in the afternoon. Today while walking in NYC (my 10 minute walk to work from the ferry) I saw 2 monarchs, both flying about 2 stories high down 1st Ave (north).
