Hey All,
Looks like I have at least one last observation to share, no sooner then I had posted my last goodbye to my resident juvinel female, I went out to top off the feeders. As soon as I touched the feeder in the cherrytree then I heard the hum of a hungry hummer. I looked up expecting to see that my last report was premature only to see a little juvinel male. He was terribly under-developed looking to have been a very late season hatchling.
So I had made my refill batch 3 times sweeter in the hopes of helping travelers to up their calorie intake. No sooner then I had replaced the feeder then a hungry bird was drinking deep. As it was raining and a little cool I was concerned; but, he took a perch and it looked like he would hang out a bit. By 3pm he had left and had not returned the next morning. I figure that he was likely our last visitor for the season. Though butterflies have been visiting the feeders, there has not been any other travelers the rest of the week.
