Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 10/05/2012

Number: 1

This is the first monarch siting I have had in Concord. I was sitting at a stop light and he landed on the sunroof. He then fluttered down to the windshield where he stayed until I could pull over into a parking lot. I carefully released it in a landscaped area away from the traffic. Though still very lively and still bright, I got the impression this specimen was possibly dying as it did not seem to have the ability to fly long distances.

What a treat!
