Sightings report image

Date: 10/06/2012

Number: 1

Our female guest, of 11 days now, was sitting at my back yard feeder this cold, windy, wet morning. She's usually at the front feeder, but the winds are coming in that way and the back feeder is protected from the westerly winds. We've nicknamed her Ripley, after that tough, female character in Alien. This girl has a bent beak on top, but still chases bees and yellow jackets away from her feeder, snapping her beak at them! Will miss her when she leaves.
