Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/07/2012

Number: 3

We had 3 hummingbirds, 1 juvenile male Rufous, 1 Rufous female and 1 Black-chinned female, at our feeders this morning. They have been hanging out here for a few days. I would not be surprised if they all fly away today. The weather last night went down into the high 30s with gale force winds. The intense wind last night caused three of the four feeders to completely drain. Fortunately, for the early morning hummers, one feeder did not blow dry. As of today I am dropping down to three feeders. I hope stragglers keep coming through for a few weeks.
