Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/06/2012

Number: 100

We were back out in Westhampton Beach on Saturday. We saw about 100 for the approximately four hours out in the afternoon. Some pairs, but mostly singles. I was amazed at what strong flyers they were, as they were traveling west along the dunes into a constant 30 mile per hour wind and making substantial progess. I've noticed that the sightings along the New Jersey coast, mostly around Cape May resemble the sightings we've a little furthur north up the coast.
