This morning we released 7 healthy monarchs, driving from Pennsylvania to Virginia due to a cold snap. Virginia is about 6 degrees warmer. We prepared the monarchs for migration by giving a small amount of sugar water and by reducing the temperature in our house every so often. They were ready to go and we released them at a local nursery where aster, mums and sedums were still in bloom. Wooded area near a lake.
