One roosting monarch (female) in the back yard oak trees this evening. She is small and does not have a spermatophore. Her behavior was that of a migrating monarch - arrived late in the afternoon, circled around over the beautiful blooming frostweed, and found a low limb to roost on. This week is the usual time that we always used to see our first migrants when I took my students to Monarch Camp at Garner State Park.
