Signs of Fall

Date: 10/10/2012

Number: 20

On the ocean front ,there were waves of monarchs! I gave the total for one minute but the waves went on for 15 minutes or more with at least 20 per minute. Some had to be 4 inches across. quite a sight!

Editor's Note: We've written to this observer to ask for
confirmation that the butterflies were monarchs, and that she can distinguish
the monarch from the Gulf Fritillary, a species sometimes confused in
this region.
