Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/10/2012

Number: 7

Even in late, warm October in Downeast Maine, I'm still observing fresh Monarchs (Viceroys, Red Admirals, Skippers, American Ladies; Painted Ladies; etc.), although in reduced numbers -- approx. 6 or 7 Monarchs on 10.10. The leps are nectaring on abundant nectar sources of Buddleja, Japanese anemone, Cosmos; Zinnias, Echinacea (1st year plants from seed now blooming), Eupatorium Joe Pye & chocolate foliage variety, Chrysanthemum Clara Curtis, Sedum, Allium, etc. I have not spotted any hummingbirds this week.
