Ten Red Emperor tulip bulbs were planted according to the instructions in a private garden. The garden has been unattended for several years. The soil was very hard and filled with roots. We removed the roots. We added cotton burr compost and garden soil to the area. We added bulb fertilizer to the planted area. Additional bulbs of other flowers were planted in the garden. We did not see any earthworms. We saw two rolly polley bugs (Armadillidiidae).
