Since mid-September our pair of bald eagles, with a nest nearby our home, have been busy reconstructing their nest for the season. Nearly every morning between 7 and 8 a.m., one or the other is spotted gathering dead branches from the tops of dead or dying trees in the woods across the street. Sometimes, the other just watches from atop a tree. Occasionally, one grabs a bunch of ornamental grass clippings in its talons to carry back to the nest.
