Today was a sunny, 52 degree fall day. We planted our tulips in an existing flower and shrub garden that contains our school's sign. The soil was very hard to dig in since our area is in a drought from the lack of rain in September and October. The garden is in an open area, but the soil is a sandy loam that drains off quickly. We will add water as needed this fall and next spring.
