Signs of Fall

Date: 10/13/2012

Number: 1

We took a drive to Parke County yesterday. Surprisingly the trees are turning beautifully this year. Best year we've had for several years in my opinion and I wasn't expecting such a lovely fall due to the horrid drought conditions that lasted through out the summer. Still some green trees but a lot of nice color and the temperatures yesterday were splendid, cool in the morning but warming nicely in the afternoon. Very fall like, needed a jacket when outside in the crisp fall air. I am so pleased we are getting so much orange and especially red leave color this year. Seems we are always lacking the red, even on nice color years. We live just to the south of Parke County so our trees are still turning here and are going to be beautiful as well. Leaves aren't falling heavily yet though we have had two frosts in our area. Rain and a little warmer temperatures expected the next couple days but I think our leaves will hang in there. It's been a delightful treat to have such a lovely end to such a dreadful summer so get out and enjoy our wonderful "Hoosier" Indiana countryside!
