Sightings report image

Date: 10/13/2012

Number: 1

Last night's temps as predicted, it was 25F at 6:38AM when she made her first appearance. We were gone most of the day and hoping she might take advantage of the calm day to take off. It was chilly, high in the low 40's with some sun and clouds. Got home and spotted her in the nearby leafless clump of trees. It was her beautiful back that caught my eye. Watched her visit the feeder a couple times. I believe her last visit was around 5:50PM and she was there for several minutes. It was around 40F at sunset. Temps are not expected to be so severe tonight, but tomorrow is not supposed to be very pleasant with possible afternoon thunderstorms. In today's photo you can see that the window steamed up when I opened it to put the feeder out this morning.
