Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/12/2012

Number: 1

Blue Ridge Parkway Oct 11-12

We traveled along the BRP, with weather in the 60's, but sunny and warm. We saw no Monarch from milepost 480, Graveyard Fields, NC, to Peaks of Otter in VA, milepost 85. 2-3 cabbage whites and sulphurs.

Monarchs have been scarce this year in the garden (Asheboro,NC), with only about 5-6 daily from mid-Sept, and Oct.2.
However, in 2011, several days around Oct 15, we had "clouds of Monarchs" daily with about 30 being
in the garden at any one time.
