Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/15/2012

Number: 114

It is about 85 degrees F, and sunny. The monarchs were sighted as I drove from my work to pick up my daughter and then home.

I just taught the look-alike lesson to my gifted 1st graders, and have been watching monarchs for many years. Was riding in a car, so no pictures, but I am very sure they were monarchs. We did see many butterflies, snouts and gulf fritillary’s especially, but only counted the ones we were sure about. The weather that day seems to have been perfect.
