a late pupa emerged as adule (female) today. we collected 7 stage 3-4 larvae 14 SEP 2012 and this is the only adult to emerge successfully. release on 17 OCT 2012. another pupa opened but the adult failed to fully emerge and died with wings still mostly folded and abdomen stuck within pupal skin. parasitic fly larvae emerged from two other pupae, pupated on their own on the cage floor and then about 50% emerged as adult flies.
