Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/19/2012

Number: 17

We appear to be on a path to a roost in the woods behind our home. Nolan and I found a large patch of "butterfly plant", tall white stalks of flowers on the floor of the very large wooded area just southwest of our property. The count of monarchs actually started in earnest on October 11, 2012, and continues to date, 10/20/12, having seen 5 monarchs this morning between 11AM to Noon. It has been very cool in the nights here for about 3 days, however, we have only seen one butterfly fully resting on our lawn during a windy, cool day last week. This is also Tyler Rose Festival week, with our municipal rose garden containing 38,000 rose shrubs, in full bloom. Good highway for them! God Bless You and the Butterflies He Made for all of us to cherish!
