Signs of Fall

Date: 10/21/2012

Sitting in my sun room facing North, and suddenly there was an explosion of butterflies over top of the tree lines in the distance. At first, I thought it was a mass of swirling golden leaves that had somehow blown way up into the sky, but I ran and grabbed on binoculars, and they were butterflies!!! They looked like Monarchs to me, but I'm not "up" on my butterlies, so they could be something similar to Monarchs. How exciting!!! They were flying very high and it was difficult to see distinct patterns or markings, but their coloring was akin to Monarchs.
