This day was the last sighting I had of a hummingbird---it's feathers were darker than any of the other ruby throats I have seen. It stopped in and fed at my feeder for a while and then moved on. There had been a freeze about 60 miles to my north on the night of the 12th so not sure I will see anymore (today is Oct 21 and have not spotted any since this one) this year. I will miss them. I have left one feeder up with fresh food in the event any more stragglers appear. This bird was nearly a month later than my last sighting last year.
