We had 400 monarchs in the trees in front of my house this morning! They began to arrive Monday week, but I had to leave Thursday and didn't get back until late yesterday evening. I drove 300 miles straight N through the flyway and saw fewer than 50 monarchs the whole trip up and 300 mi. back from Abilene. From the carport to the front door, I had a cloud of 50 explode from the banana trees as I pulled in. Then noticed about 300 in ONE tree beside the corner of my house as I approached the door!
This morning the numbers had grown.
