Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/22/2012

Number: 5

Many monarchs have been observed this fall in richmond -starting in August, 2012 -but my question is this ??
I reared about 25 monarchs from eggs laid in my yard -released and tagged about 25 athome and about 20 at school about 5 miles from my home -There were 2 remaining chrysalids in my net on sideporch for over a month and nothing happened, so when weather got cold, brought net inside and then back outside this past weekend when temperatures rose - they began to change color and then yesterday one came out and today the other -i had put net back on porch when we started getting this warm spell - Can metamorphosis slow down its process during cold temp. like the adult monarch slows down when it gets cold? I had never seen this happen -The two were tagged and released today october 23, 2012--about 5 other monarchs were sighted migrating yesterday, october 22
