Observed while traveling the GP WMA, Sullivan County area (which is about 35 miles north of my "home" location). Saw and photographed 4 or 5 Monarchs feeding on what is left of various flowering plants. Likely more in the area. Observed some milkweed plants in the area are now in dried condition. We've had some days of very cold weather, 2 frosts, nights in the low 30's, but has now warmed into the 80's with nighttime lows in upper 50's. Much cooler weather predicted for the weekend with nighttime lows dropping into the mid 30's again.
