Signs of Fall

Date: 10/21/2012

Number: 100

It was amazing, I started counting once I saw the first 5. They appeared to be coming out of some of the dunes that still had blooming yellow flowers. It seemed as if they were warm and moving with the sun. Some would land on the toys we had on the beach (mainly colored items of red, pink and yellow. They would fly low and then dodge the people who seemed to be oblivious to the flutters of their wings. Many were small and wings were tattered, some were very large and brightly colored. My grandchildren would ask how many now have you seen?
There would be as many as 12 at a time. What a joy. The time of day was 10:30 am.
