My plumber called just after 4 p.m. to say he and his family had gone out to check on their stock and found the south boundary road of their place covered in monarchs. I grabbed my camera and ran for the door! Had to have been at least 3000 monarchs and I kept remembering that he'd driven his truck down the road 3 times by the time I saw them! Many were in the thicket to the left as well, but disbursed among the trees. Breezy from the SSE, 7-10mph. Still not weighting the trees down like 30 years ago, but the best monarch numbers I've seen in 5-6 years!
