Tulips PLANTED
Sightings report image

Date: 10/24/2012

Number: 1

We planted our tulip bulbs yesterday. While we were planting, we saw a wood chuck come out of the woods near our school. It walked right by us and into the parking lot! That made us think of a question. Do wood chucks eat tulips? The answer is YES! Then we asked another question. How do we keep wood chucks away from our tulip garden? We found out that they are afraid of people, scarecrows, and pinwheels. They also don't like hot sauce. We will be spraying a mixture of water and hot sauce around the perimeter of our garden, putting up a scarecrow and pinwheel, and visiting our garden often. What an exciting day we had!
