Monarch fritillaries, migrating west to east along the Gulf, during the week of October 16-23, each day a good 50-60 each minute right along the sand dunes by the Gulf, but also all over inland as well. I would see a good 500-600 in 10 minutes fly right by me without stopping, so thousands per hour. And this continued day after day, after the sun warmed. Same thing I had seen a month earlier. There must be millions. tried to take pictures with iPhone, but they never come out.
