Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/24/2012

Number: 4

4 monarchs seen today searching for nectar. We are getting a few warm days at Clearville Park after 3 weeks of windy cool weather. There are very few nectar plants left. A few rare late blooming golden rod and a few New England aster is all that is available. The main migration moved through Clearvile Park on Sept 20 and there have been stragglers since. The windy weather of the last three weeks has made migration difficult because the prevailing wind has been from the south west on most days.
