Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 10/30/2012

Number: 3

Three Rufous, young male that likes to do a lot of flying up and down in the air very high up. female has specks of green back with orange color. other is all brownish. If they continue to stay this winter we have planted winter salvias, and cape honeysuckle because the several hamelia hummingbird tress have seeded out a lot. Cana lilies hummers also like will die down in first freeze.
This is really something to see with Rufous here. Rufous have a lot of personality and one loves to chase sparrows around.
*****I urge Journey North to keep the hummingbird sightings available all winter, longer than Nov 2nd. because others see hummingbirds in winters obviously.
Thanks
