Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 11/01/2012

Number: 9

We saw 7 fly by between 11:30 - 12:00. Two later in the day. Since our Lantana, Golden Rod, and Frost weed have mostly passed, these Monarchs were especially interested in the invasive Privit blooms. The air was noticeably sweet smelling. had 5 observations and photos of Monarchs nectaring on this flower. 4 others were also observed flying around and probably nectared as well....we just didn't see them. Here is a photo of a male monarch. The past few days we have had lots of observations of Monarchs flying through.
