Signs of Fall

Date: 11/01/2012

Number: 1

Saw a late migrating Robin in my yard in a bare Walnut tree. First one I've seen in a couple of weeks. Most of our trees are bare now, leaves distributed all across the yard after several extremely windy days last week. Also, a White Capped Sparrow has arrived, a winter bird for us, and he sang a delightful song on a low limb in a tree right above me. I have 3 or 4 Yellow Rumped Warblers that have been living in a Cedar tree since October 13. I hope they plan on staying the winter with us, they are a first for us. First Junco was spotted feeding off the ground under the feeder about 1 week ago. Yes, winter is on the way and I'm looking forward to my winter visitors and my regulars!
