Working together, with the help of three parents and myself, 20 second graders each planted a tulip bulb. Students prepared the soil by turning it over with shovels and removing rocks as well as grubs! They marked their bulb's location with a large popsicle stick labeled with their science day, initials and number from the class roster. They colored the lettering on theirs sticks with green crayon. The crayon's wax should help preserve the print from the winter weather.
