We have seen the same young (about 3 years of age) on our ranch beginning 10/31/2012. He spends much of his time in a few trees all with good views of stocked ponds where he has been observed fishing and taking his catch across the road to eat. An adult pair was sighted throughout the winter last year at a nearby ranch. We are wondering if there is any relationship between those adults and this immature eagle. He/she is not overly sensitive to routine activity on the ranch and does not mind people in the general area but will flee if anyone gets within a 100 feet or so of him. We are trying to give him/her distance in hopes he/she will stay at the ranch for awhile. All of our ponds are well stocked so there is plenty of food for now.
